This is the Valley of Light:
A section of the Appalachian Mountains which hugs the New River.

This region also is called the Virginia Highlands, due to its resemblance to
Scotland and the fact that so many Scottish immigrants settled here.
Previously, the New River Valley was the hunting grounds of the Cherokee.

This blog-site has been set up to facilitate the building of a
Sustainable Spiritual Community in the New River Valley.

We welcome everyone who lives in this region or who is interested in joining
the VOL movement to utilize this site for social networking and planning.
We also will post dates for VOL meetings here and share the progress we make in reaching our goal:
