Seminar Description:

This class is the third in a series of seminars on the five primary religions: Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam.  Our facilitator, Chuck Tellechea was born in Cuba and had an early career as an airline pilot.  His international exposure led him to the Buddhist tradition and to be given the name Dragpa Gyaltsen by his Lama.  He is a member of the Kunzang Palyul Choling Temple in Poolesville, MD (a/k/a KPC).  At KPC, he took the vows of a Lay practitioner and studies under its Lama, Jetsunma Akhon Lhamo.  For more information about KPC visit:

Students will learn:

·How the Buddhist religion was formed and its major schools

·The life story of its major prophet Siddhartha Gautama (a/k/a Buddha)

·The Four Noble Truths of Buddhism and the Three Jewels of Buddhism

·The Buddhist path to enlightenment – Nirvana

In keeping with the unification goals of The Oracle Institute, our facilitator will identify the lessons of Buddhism which continue to enhance our view of God and those which may be updated to further serve humanity.  We also will explore how Buddhism may be incorporated into a pluralistic approach for understanding each other and communing with the Supreme Being
